Sanat eğitiminde eğitsel bir araç olarak çocuk sanat kitapları

Abstract

Çocukların sağlıklı bir şekilde gelişmeleri için, onların ilgisini çeken, ihtiyaçlarına ve algı düzeylerine uygun kitaplarla etkileşimde olmaları gerekmektedir. Çünkü çocuklara yönelik yapıtlar, onların hayal güçlerini, yaratıcılıklarını geliştirdiği gibi zihinsel, dilsel ve iletişim becerilerinin gelişimi açısından da önemli bir etkendir. Bu durum özellikle görsel sanatlar eğitimi gibi haftalık ders saati anlamında kısıtlı eğitim alanları için büyük önem taşımakta ve sanat üzerine yapılmış çocuk kitaplarını önemli bir ihtiyaç konumuna getirmektedir. Gelişmiş ülkelerde etkili bir eğitsel araç olarak ele alınan çocuk kitapları, bilimsel yaklaşımla incelenen özel bir alandır. Ülkemizde de hem çocuk kitaplarında hem de bu kitapların incelendiği araştırmalarda bir artış söz konusudur. Bununla birlikte sanat ve eğitimi alanında çocuk kitaplarının hem nicelik açısından yetersiz olduğu hem de belli ölçütler doğrultusunda incelenmediği görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada nitelikli çocuk sanat kitaplarının sahip olması gereken biçimsel ve içeriksel özellikler ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır. Saptanan bu özelliklerin çocuk sanat kitabı inceleme çalışmalarına ve çocuklara yönelik sanat kitabı yazmayı hedefleyen yazarlara ve sanat eğitimcilerine katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

In order to be grown up in a healthy way, children have to interact with the books which attract their attention and appropriate for their needs and perception levels. Because the works for children not only improve children’s imaginations and creativities but also these works are important factors for the development of the children’s mental, linguistic and communication skills. This situation is crucial especially for the fields of education such as visual arts education in which weekly training hours are limited and brings the children’s art books as a prominent need. Children's books - which are regarded as effective teaching tools in developed countries - is a special area surveyed with a scientific approach. In our country, there is increment in children’s books and book researches as well. However, it is seen that children’s books, especially in the field of art and education, are inadequate in terms of quantity and are not researched according to certain criteria. In this study, the formal and substantive features that the childrens’s art book should have will be presented. It is expected that the formal and substantive features which will be presented in this study will contribute to other reviewing studies in this area and to art educators and writers who are aspiring to write art books for children.
