Amerika’nın Irak’a Müdahalesine İlişkin Televizyon Haberlerinin İçerik Analizi Yöntemi İle İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırma, Amerika’nın Irak’a müdahalesinin Türkiye’deki ulusal televizyon kanallarının ana haber bültenlerinde nasıl yer aldığını inceleyen bir çalışmadır. Kimyasal tehdit ve Irak’a demokrasi getirmek gibi meşru bir zemine dayandırılan Amerika’nın işgalini, göç eden insanlar ve uzakta patlayan bombalar görüntüleriyle izledik. Kayıpları rakamlarla duyduk. Muhabirlerin korku ve panik dolu gözleriyle işgalin boyutlarını tahmin etmeye çalıştık. Irak’ta bunlar olurken ülkemiz gündeminde sadece tezkere tartışmaları mı vardı? Haberler hangi nitelikteydi, haber kaynakları nelerdi? Kanalların gündemi benzer miydi? Araştırmada bu sorulara içerik analizi yöntemiyle cevap aranmıştır.

This is a study designed and conducted to analyse how TV news of American occupation of Iraq was covered in prime news programmes of Turkey’s TV channels We watched the American occupation which was based on the alleged chemical weapons threat and on a legal ground of bringing democracy to Iraq along with the people fleeing in the shade of bombs exploding in distance. Death tolls were presented as mere statistics. We tried to estimate the extent of the war through fear and the panic-stricken eye of the reporters. While these events were happening in Iraq, were there only the discussions of motion on the agenda of our country? What kind of news is available? What were the sources of news? Were the schedules of TV channels alike? Answers were sought for these questions in this study by means of content analysis method.
