Yetiştirme Kuramı: Televizyonla Yaşamanın İdeolojik Kültürel Sonuçlarına Yönelik Yapılan Araştırma

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, televizyonun insanların dünya algılamaları ve sosyal gerçeklik kavramlaştırmaları üzerinde bir rolü olup olmadığı ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Başka bir ifadeyle televizyonun yetiştirme rolü araştırılmıştır. Televizyonun yetiştirme rolünü ortaya koymak için, George Gerbner’in Kültürel Göstergeler Projesi’nin Mesaj Sistem ve Yetiştirme Çözümlemeleri bileşenlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmada önce, en çok izlenen ticari kanallardan atv, Kanal D, Show ve Star televizyonları ile TRT1 ana haberlerinin çözümlemesi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çözümleme sonucunda, televizyonun çok fazla şiddet sunumu yaptığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Daha sonra, yetiştirme sorularının da olduğu anket DDY personeline uygulanmıştır. Televizyonun yetiştirme rolünün olup olmadığını anlamak için Yetiştirme ve Yaygın Görüş Haline Getirme Çözümlemeleri yapılmıştır. Bu çözümlemeler sonucunda, televizyonun ideolojik kültürel yetiştirme rolü olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.

In this study, we try find out if there is a role of television on the people’s perception of the world and their characterization of the social reality. In other words, we investigate the television’s cultivation role. To investigate the television’s cultivation role, we use the components of Cultural Indicators Project of George Gerbner such as Cultivation Analysis and Message System. Analysis To investigate the television’s cultivation role, first of all, we analyze the prime time news of high rated private channels of atv, Kanal D, Show and Star and public channel TRT1. Results of the news analysis indicate that there are too much violence scenes on the news. Then, we conduct a survey, which includes cultivation questions on employees of DDY. To understand if there is a cultivation role of television, we perform Cultivation and Mainstreaming Analysis. Based on the results these analyses, we conclude that there is an ideological cultural role of television.
