Teknoloji Korkusu ve Bunu Etkileyen Etmenler: Öğretmen Adayları Üzerinde Bir Çalışma

Abstract

Bireyin yaşamına doğrudan giren ve onun seçme inisiyatifini zorlayan teknolojik koşullar, ister istemez bireyde psikolojik tepkiler uyandırmaktadır. Bu tepkilerden biri olan teknolojiye yönelik korku genellikle teknolojiye uyum sağlayamama durumlarında ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğretmen adayı öğrencilerin teknoloji korkusu düzeylerini çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma evrenini Anadolu Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi'nde 2000-2001 öğretim yılında tüm bölüm ve sınıflarda okuyan 1934 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmaya bu evrenden 1108 kişi katılmıştır. Araştırmada verileri toplamak için Kişisel Bilgi Formu ile geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışması yapılan Teknoloji Korkusu Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğretmen adaylarının; demografik, kişilik özellikleri ile bilgisayar tecrübeleri ve: teknoloji korkusu arasında anlamlı fark elde edilmiştir.

Technological advancements that are directly related to individual's life and urge his initiative of choice, willingly or unwillingly, arouse psychological reactions. Technophobia is one of these reactions and it generally arouses in the cases of problems faced while adapting new technology. The aim of this study was to investigate the levels of fear of technology among 1108 teacher candidates with respect to various variables. The participants were from several departments in Educational Faculty at Anadolu University. Data were collected by using a personal information questionnaire and a standardized measure of technophobia. First, the psychometric properties of the Technophobia Scale were investigated. Second, significant differences were found between the gender and socio-economic status of the subjects and their technophobia levels.
