Composition of the Essential Oil of Thymus Longicaulis C. Presl. var. subisophyllus (Borbas) Jalas from Turkey

Abstract

Water distilled essential oil from the dried herbal parts of Thymus longicaulis C. Presl. var. subisophyllus (Borbas) Jalas was examined by GC/MS and some physico-chemical characteristics were also determined. Fifty-seven components representing 95.81% of die oil were characterized. The major components were found to be thymol (21.73%), borneol (15.84%) and p-cymene (15.39%)
