Web-based subcontractor evaluation system

Abstract

One of the most important phases in the construction industry is the bidding process. During the bidding process, selecting the most appropriate subcontractor for the relevant works is highly critical. In order to select the most appropriate one for the project and prepare the most realistic and accurate bid proposal, general contractors have to know all financial, ethical and technical information about these subcontractors. General contractors should consider several factors by selecting the most appropriate subcontractor. These factors include the quality of production, efficiency, employment of qualified members, respect of the company, accessibility to the company, completion of the work on time etc. This paper proposes a system by which the relevant information of the subcontractor's can be stored and evaluated according to their past business experience with the general contractor. General contractors can select the most appropriate subcontractor for their relevant subworks and gain the advantage of saving time and money by this system.
