Simge Kavramı ve Bir Film Çözümlemesi: Karşılaşma

Abstract

Sinemanın bir eğlence aracı olmadığı gerçeğinden yola çıkıldığında ve sinemanın bir iletişim dizgesi olduğu kabul edildiğinde sinema dilinin önemi ortaya çıkmaktadır. Kuşkusuz bu dilin okunması için dilin izleyici tarafından bilinmesi gerekmektedir. Sinema dilinin okunmasında ve anlaşılmasında yardımcı olan yöntemlerden biri de göstergebilimdir. Gösterge iletişimin gerçekleşebilmesi için gerekli olan ögelerden bir tanesidir. Göstergebilimin ilk kuramcılarından biri olan Pierce göstergeleri sınıflamıştır. Göstergeleri ikon, belirti ve simge olarak üçe ayıran kuramcı bu ayrımlara dayanarak gösterge dizgesini oluşturmuştur. Bu çalışmada da Ömer Kavur’un Karşılaşma adlı filmi Pierce’ün gösterge tanımı içinde yer alan “simge” kavramı açısından çözümlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Filmin içinde yer alan ve filmin anlamının oluşmasında önemli bir yer tutan simgeler ele alınmış ve filmin içeriği ile bağlantısı kurularak çözümlenmiştir.

When it is assumed that movie is not a means of entertainment and it is a way communication, the importance of film language comes to surface. It is clear that for understanding way communication, first of all audience has to know the language. One of the methods which help to understand this language is semiology. Sign is also one of the required elements which realized communication. Pierce who was one of the early theoretician has classified the signs. According to his theory, signs can be classified in to three categories: icon, symbol, index. Based upon these different concepts the established his sign system. In this study, Karşılaşma of Ömer Kavur has been tried analyzed from the view point of Pierce's concept of symbol which was one of these categories. Symbol which are thought important for giving the meaning of the film have been analyzed, by taking in to consideration the relationships between signs and the conceptual framework of the film.
