Türkiye'de İhracat, İthalat ve Ekonomik Büyüme Arasındaki İlişkilerin Zaman Serisi Analizi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, 1987-2006 yılları arasında Türkiye'de reel ekonomik büyüme,ithalat ve ihracat arasındaki nedensel ilişkilerin gücünün yanısıra yapısıda araştırılmaya çalışılmıştır. Özellikle de ekonomik büyüme-ihracat arasındaki nedensellik incelenirken ithalat değişkeninin rolü üzerinde durulmuştur. Granger nedensellik test sonuçları ele alman değişkenler arasında tek yönlü bir nedensellik olduğunu, yani ihracattan ekonomik büyüme ve ithalata ve ithalattan ekonomik büyümeye doğru bir nedensellik ilişkisini desteklemektedir. Üstelik, Etki-Tepki ve Varyans Ayrıştırma fonksiyonları bu sonucu desteklemekte ve böylece ele alman dönemde Türkiye'de ihracat öncelikli büyüme hipotezinin geçerli olduğunu göstermektedir.

In this paper, not only the nature but also the strength of the causal relationship among real exports, imports, and economic growth in Turkey over the period of 1987-2006 is investigated. Particularly the role of import variable in the investigating of economic growth-export causality is emphasized. The Granger causality tests results confirm that there is unidirectional causality between variables considered, mainly running from export to economic growth and import and import to economic growth. Moreover, IRFs and VDCs support this result therefore allows to conclude that export led growth hypothesis is supported by the Turkish data over the period.
