"Dünyada Başka Şekilde Yaşamak da Mümkün mü?" Değer Eğitiminde "Küçük Kara Balık" Örneği

Abstract

Samed Behrengi'nin masal türünde yazılmış olan "Küçük Kara Balık" kitabının içerdiği değerler bakımından incelenmesini amaçlayan bu araştırmada analitik araştırma yöntemi benimsenmiştir. Doküman incelemesi yoluyla toplanan araştırmanın verileri içerik analizi yoluyla çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda Küçük Kara Balık kitabının çözümlenmesi ile ortaya çıkan temaların; güç, başarı, hazcılık, uyarılım, güvenlik, özyönelim, evrenselcilik, iyilikseverlik, uyma ve geleneksellik olduğu ve bu temalarda en çok vurgulanan değerlerin merak duyabilmek (özyönelim), kendi amaçlarını seçebilmek (özyönelim), özgür olmak (özyönelim), açık sözlülük (özyönelim), cesur olmak (uyarılım), anlamlı bir hayat (iyilikseverlik) ve kibarlık (uyma) olduğu bulunmuştur. Ayrıca masalda toplumsal düzenin sürmesini istemek (güvenlik), itaatkâr olmak (uyma), hayatın verdiklerini kabullenmek ve geleneklere bağlı olmak (geleneksellik), otorite sahibi olmak ve sosyal güç sahibi olmak (güç) gibi değerlerin desteklenmediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda Küçük Kara Balık masal kitabı kullanılarak, özellikle ilkokul düzeyinde özyönelim teması altında bulunan değerlerin kazandırılmasına yönelik etkinliklerin yapılabileceği, ileriki araştırmalara yönelik bu masal kitabıyla değer eğitiminin ilişkilendirildiği nitel ve nicel çalışmalar düzenlenebileceği ve değer sınıflaması içinde yer alan özyönelim, iyilikseverlik gibi değerlerin kazandırılmasına yönelik Küçük Kara Balık kitabının etkisini belirlemek üzere deneme modelleri ile araştırmalar desenlenebileceği yönünde öneriler getirilmiştir.

In this study, an analytical research method was adopted to examine Samed Behrengi's children's tale book, "The Little Black Fish", in terms of the values the book contains. The research data collected through a document review were analyzed through content analysis. According to the outcomes of the research, the themes that emerged due to the analysis of the book "The Little Black Fish" were determined as power, achievement, hedonism, stimulation, security, self-direction, universalism, benevolence, conformity and tradition, and the values that are most emphasized within these themes were the ability to wonder (self-direction), the ability to choose own goals (self-direction), being free (self-direction), outspokenness (self-direction), being courageous (stimulation), a meaningful life (benevolence) and kindness (conformity). Furthermore, it was concluded that values such as the desire of sustaining the social order (security), obedience (conformity), acceptance of what life brings and depending on traditions (tradition), having authority and social influence (power) were unsupported in this children's tale. In the concluding remarks of this research, suggestions regarding research design through the use of experimental models were provided for further qualitative and quantitative studies that associate value education with the tale book "The Little Black Fish" and in order to understand the effects of the book on delivering values such as self-direction and benevolence that are within the value classifications by proposing activities through which the students would acquire the values included in the selfdirection theme in the curriculum using "The Little Black Fish" children's tale book.
