Uluslararası Öğrencilerin Kültürel Uyum Sürecine Yönelik Tasarım Tabanlı Araştırma Yaklaşımına Dayalı Çevrimiçi Oryantasyon Uygulamasının Geliştirilmesi

Abstract

Araştırma; uluslararası öğrencilerin Türk kültürüne ve çevreye uyum sürecinde kullanılabilecek bir çevrimiçi sistemden içerik beklentilerinin belirlenmesi, bu çevrimiçi sistemin tasarlanması ve hazırlanan çevrimiçi sistemin etkililiğinin uluslararası öğrencilerin görüşlerine göre geliştirilmesi olmak üzere üç temel aşamadan oluşmaktadır. ERA-191 kodlu "Dijital Teknoloji ve Kültürel Entegrasyon" dersi kapsamında dört uluslararası öğrenci katılımı ile yapılan odak grup görüşmelerinde, Türk kültürüne ve çevreye uyum süreçlerinde kullanılabilecek bir çevrimiçi sistem hakkındaki içerik beklentileri belirlenmiştir. Daha sonra ders kapsamında dört uluslararası öğrenci ile çevrimiçi içerik geliştirme çalışmaları gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmaya katılımı sağlanan dört uluslararası öğrenci Anadolu Üniversitesi Grafik Tasarımı Bölümü'nde lisans eğitimine devam etmektedir. Araştırmada yöntem olarak tasarım tabanlı araştırma modeli katılımcı tasarım yaklaşımı çerçevesinde işe koşulmuştur. Özellikle hedef kitle odaklı tasarım çalışmalarında tasarım tabanlı araştırma modelinin kullanılması uygun bulunmaktadır. Tasarım sürecine hedef kitlenin dahil edilmesi, tasarımın hedef kitlenin beklentilerine uygun olarak yapılmasını mümkün kılmaktadır. Katılımcı tasarımcı yaklaşımının uygulanması ile hedef kitleyi oluşturan uluslararası öğrencilerin araştırma sürecine daha etkin katılımı sağlanmıştır. Çevrimiçi sistemin etkililiğinin incelenmesi amacıyla yapılan çalışmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre çevrimiçi sistemi kullanan uluslararası öğrencilerin içerik beklentilerinin tamamen karşılandığı belirlenmiştir. Bu durum, çevrimiçi sistem ile uluslararası öğrencilere sunulan danışmanlık hizmetinin etkili olduğunu göstermektedir.

The research consists of three main stages including determination of their content expectations from an online system to be used in the process of adjustment to Turkish culture and the environment, the design of this online system and development of the efficiency of the online system prepared according to the opinions of international students. Focus group interviews were implemented with four international under the course "Digital Technology and Cultural Integration" opened for international students and coded ERA-191. In these interviews, it has been tried to be learned the content expectations of the students about the online system to be used in the process of adjustment to the Turkish culture and the environment. Then, the design of the online system was completed with these students and online content development activities were carried out. For participant international students that taking part at the research were taking undergraduate education at Anadolu University Graphical Design Department. In the study, the participatory design approach depending on the design-based research method was used as the research model. The design-based research method is considered to be appropriate especially to target- focused design development processes. In the process, the purpose of involving the target population in the design phases is to make it possible for the design to meet the needs of the target population. With the usage of participatory design approach, international students more effective participation to research process was ensured. It was determined that the content expectations of the international students who use the online system are fully met according to the findings of the study performed to examine the effectiveness of online system. This shows that the consulting services offered to international students via online system is effective.
